Group of ephemera and press kit for the 7th season. Includes a rare original panel used as part of the original set. Provenance is provided by an original letter from Joanna Fuller - a production assistant - who states: "The panel used to be part of the Voyager Bridge set last season. However, as you can see, it got a little damaged during a re-painting session over the hiatus. Funny -- the Art Department had four of these reject panels at the beginning of the season, and now two of them belong to various members of the Fazekas family!" This American novelist and playwright (member of the American water polo team at the 1904 Olympics) often used his experiences in Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush as the basis for his adventure tales such as the 1906 bestseller "The Spoilers"; a household name in the early 20th century because of bestsellers such as "The Net" (1912), "Don Careless" (1928), "Jungle Gold" (1935) and many others -- many of which were turned into films -- he committed suicide at age 71. Released in 1987, Love Is a Dog From Hell is a three-act film based on the writings of Charles Bukowski, including a scene from Ham on Rye and the short story, The Copulating Mermaid of Venice, California. This copy is signed by Charles Bukowski on title page of the film synopsis part of the kit. In Europe, the film also goes by the more common title Crazy Love, depending on different international markets. The film follows the story of Harry beginning at 12 years old through age 30, primarily focusing on his coming-of-age sexual awareness to his complicated understanding of love. Although some have called it a dramatic comedy, it was a little uncomfortable for me to watch when I first viewed it. If there is comedy, it's the kind of European comedy you'd feel watching Das Boat. Unexpectedly, the third part based on The Copulating Mermaid of Venice, California, is the most beautiful and (strangely) most uplifting part of the film. For those not familiar, it's the story of two men who steal a young woman's corpse and bring it to the sea for burial, where Harry makes love to her in the ocean. The Press Kits contains the standard synopsis for the film with the plot, cast of characters, etc. Also included are An 8" x 10" facsimile of the promotional poster with additional photos and information on the back. A ticket to a screening at the Beverly Center Cineplex in Los Angeles An envelope for submitting a tear sheet Eight 8" x 10" black and white photographs, with one particularly captivating showing director Dominique Deruddere coaching the two primary young actors. A caption sheet for the photos The kit is housed in a folder from Cineplex Odeon Films. Overall, the kit is in Near Fine-minus condition with a pencil note on the top right of the folder, some light wear to the folder and some light creases and browning to the interior pieces. Crate 1.
