Signed and inscribed by Serge Lifar (1905-1986), a Ukrainian ballet dancer and choreographer, in black ink on a front flyleaf. Original publisher's light beige paper wrappers. Small black lettering on spine. Black and red lettering and small illustration on front cover. 5 1/2" x 7 1/2." 157 pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning and small occasional marks or stains. Covers are very clean and intact except for tiny spots of foxing or discoloration on front, spinal creases, a few small marks on back, light age toning, and slight wear to extremities. A Very Good copy. A collection of essays that pay homage to dance. Authored by different contributors. Each of the subjects relates to dance.
