After the dedication, Tufts adds, "with apologies for the fact that it is somewhat on the heavy side and the warning that it is intended for their education and not their entertainment." Inscribed and autographed on the ffep by the author: "TO AL LANEY, WITH RECOLLECTIONS OF MANY HELPFUL TALKS WITH HIM ON THE SUBJECT. DICK TUFTS". Al Laney was the golf writer for the Herald Tribune from 1924 through the late 1960s when the paper closed. Tight copy, clean gray cloth with sharp cover corners. Contents clean and unmarked.
