Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 1980. viii, 195pp. "This book is a study of the Biblical under- standing of health and healing, and begins with a consideration of what the Old and New Testaments mean by health, though the major part of the book is concerned with healing in the New Testament. First of all, various aspects of the healing activity of Jesus are examined, and his healing of the epileptic boy and the bent woman considered in detail. Then the healing activity of the apostolic Church is considered, followed by a detailed study of the identity and significance of Paul's thorn in the flesh, and of James' instructions to the Church about the healing of the sick. The final section discusses the healing commission which Jesus gave to his disciples and whether it is still valid today. The book ends with a consideration of the practice of the ministry of healing of the Church today in the light of the teaching of the New Testament and the modern medical situation. The book is noteworthy for its combination of medical and theological insights into the healing ministry of the Church." Minor shelf wear to unclipped dust jacket. Both book and jacket are otherwise in excellent condition. All contents are tight and clean. There are no inscriptions.…

Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A rare, highly collectible true first edition, first printing of H.B. Jeffery's seminal New Thought classic, The Principles of Healing, published in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1939. Arising from the early 20th-century New Thought and "High Mysticism" movements, this sought-after volume outlines eight foundational lessons on the mechanics of Christian spiritual healing. Jeffery, a prominent contemporary and associate of Emma Curtis Hopkins and the Fillmores, presents a profound philosophical synthesis of Christ's teachings, Platonic thought, and the practical application of spiritual "wholeness" as a remedy for physical and mental discord. Unlike the more common mid-century and modern softcover reprints, this Fort Worth, Texas 1939 first printing is an exceptionally scarce find for collectors of metaphysical, occult, and alternative spiritual literature. Key Features for Collectors: True First Printing: Confirmed by the Fort Worth, Texas publication line and 1939 copyright date with no subsequent printing statements. Collector's Note: True first editions of this text are known to feature an official stamped serial number on the interior endpapers/title page. Original Binding: Bound in period-accurate cloth boards with crisp, minimalist cover/spine lettering. Historical Significance: An essential cornerstone text for students of Divine Science, Unity, and early American spiritualism.…

While the word shamanism has come to mean many things to many people, a shaman is an individual who uses an enhanced capacity to attend to the unseen world primarily in service to others. The first step to being able to artfully serve others is to return to balance.…
