Publisher's ori…ginal red quarter-leather with green buckram boards and raised bands. Gilt lettering on spine. Top edge gilt. With the original publishers green-cloth slipcase. The BOOK is in Fine condition. With the original green card folder housing the complete suite of 8 prints. All housed in the publisher s original green slipcase. The 25 special bound copies were divided into : Edition A : 10 copies with 3 loose prints ( None signed), Edition B : 15 copies with the complete suite Of 8 prints ( 2 wood engravings are provided by each of the following artists : Eric Ravilious / John Nash / Enid Marx / Reynolds Stone ). This copy is Edition B, number 3 of 15. All 8 prints are present and the two Enid Marx prints are numbered and signed by her. I am unaware whether she signed all the prints for Edition B or not. The book has been designed to provide a resource of information about the developments in British printmaking which started in the middle of the nineteenth century and continued into the middle of the twentieth; it also hopes to provide a point of departure for further study. The text commences with an A-Z of artists considered important or relevant to the period. It continues with essays describing developments in the different media which are followed by illustrative sections laid out chronologically. Scarce with such attributes.
