Pages uniformly browned else very good in dusty dust-wrapper. "Mr Lockley's research on the rabbit, undertaken as part of the Nature Conservancy's investigation of the myxomatosis plague, was a classic piece of field work." Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, wrote the introduction to the 1976 edition, in which he explains that having roughed the narrative out, he used The Private Life of The Rabbit as his guide to the actual facts of the life of rabbits. Filled with diagrams of warrens, the ranges of rabbit territories, as well as good, relevant photographs, and an informative text, this book is of great use to anyone who wants to understand more about the humble rabbit. .
