Original signed typescript of what would become chapter 2 of John Hunt'sThe Ascent of Everest,published in 1953. Hunt was the leader of the successful 1953 British Expedition to Mount Everest with Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. This all-important chapter discusses the psychological and physical factors of great magnitude which had faced those attempting to reach the summit, and how the expedition planned for them. A lovely example of Hunt's writing, and a true Everest artifact. . Clean typescript (likely a fair copy) on carbons, 10pp rectos only, signed by Hunt on the final sheet. Few light creases and just a couple blemishes, else near fine.
