This striking folio portfolio, Les Grand Prix de Rome d'Architecture, 1907, published by Armand Guérinet in Paris, presents a visually impressive and historically significant selection of architectural drawings submitted for the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome competition in architect…ure. Issued by the École des Beaux-Arts, the volume documents the top submissions including Premier Grand Prix, Deuxième Grand Prix, and Deuxième Second Grand Prix to the 1907 concours, for which the subject was the design of Un Observatoire & une Station Scientifique (An Observatory and Scientific Station). The plates, printed in high-quality phototype (collotype), exhibit the detailed draughtsmanship, neoclassical rigour, and conceptual clarity for which the Beaux-Arts style was known. These portfolios were produced in very limited numbers, primarily for academic institutions, libraries, and architectural offices, and were not widely distributed commercially. Their survival rate is low, especially in complete form with ties and fold-outs intact, making this an uncommon item. We can identify no specific Worldcat institutional holdings for this single year folio, which we believe is complete, as issued. A very good set comprising an outer folio with blue cloth spine, and printed paper over boards, with its original 6 cloth ties al still present. Covers with some rubbing and wear and age toning to extremities. Some pencil inscriptions to cover - including the handwritten 1907 date. Inside there is a one leaf introduction, followed by a set of high quality architectural plates, including fold-out, landscape format images. The introductory page with some light wear and toning. The plates are bright and clean. Language: French. (i) Introductory title + 11 Plate Images, printed on 6 sheets (3 of which are large fold-outs). Dimensions: Each volume approximately 468mm x 345mm x 10mm. Weight: approximately 1165g (the set- unpacked). More photos on request.

Sur cett…e période couvrant du 13 mai au 10 juin 1912, on trouvera notamment l'annonce de "L'Après- Midi d'un Faune", tableau chorégraphique de Nijinsky. Le programme est superbement illustré par les meilleurs artistes, dont Georges Lepape, Bakst, ou Marty. Une carte volante du "Théâtre des Arts" annonçant "Ma Mère l'Oye", Ballet en un acte de Maurice Ravel, Pupazzi de Florent Schmitt et Jeannine de Pierre Grasset est jointe au programme. On sait que la pièce de Maurice Ravel "Ma Mère l'Oye" fut adaptée pour ballet en cette même année 1912. Bon état (la couverture en papier fin est débrochée avec des accrocs et petits manques marginaux, bon exemplaire par ailleurs). Langue: Français.
