Original vintage World War Two recruitment poster issued by the Royal Air Force - Progress with the RAF Join The Regular Air Force - featuring dynamic midcentury artwork by the notable British graphic designer Tom Eckersley (1914-1997) depicting a Gloster Meteor plane flying at speed on a pale blue arrow with the text in bold le…ttering diagonally above and below. Manufactured from 1943-1955 the pioneering Gloster Meteor aircraft was Britain's first jet fighter and the only Allied jet fighter used in air combat during WWII. Printed for HM Stationery Office by Waterlow and Sons Ltd. Horizontal. Good condition, staining, repaired tears, creasing, backed on linen. Size: 51x76.5cm. Tom Eckersley (illustrator).
