Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear.

Brown covers with black and gilt lettering and decoration on front cover and spine. Both volumes have sepia frontis with foxed protective tissue leaf. Rear cove of Volume I is water damaged but this is on the exterior only. The binding consists of stapled gathering sewn together. In Volume 2 this has become loose and some gatherings are detached, some staples are rusted and have discoloured surrounding paper. First Thousand. 2-volume set (complete). No dust-jacket.
