Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Fine in a near fine dust jacket. The brown cloth binding is clean and unworn with gleaming gold lettering to the spine. The contents are clean and bright with no ownership markings of any kind. The volume has been signed on the title page by Laurens van der Post. The dust jacket is crisp, clean, bright, and without wear. The only thing that keeps it from being fine is that it has been neatly clipped. From the blurb: "In a Province is full of that deep human understanding and brilliant description that distinguished 'Venture into the Interior' and 'The Face Beside the Fire'; it has a young man's fire and indignation, tempered and controlled by a mature judgment. It shows us how people can 'sow out of their love for the oppressed the seeds of a terrible hate'; but it also persuades us that, while there is love, there is hope for the future".
