With the original photographers label on the reverse (with signature and fingerprint of the photographer in ink).* Cor Jaring (Amsterdam December 18th 1936 - Amsterdam November 17th 2013) was a Dutch photographer and artist. He is widely known for photographing Amsterdam during the sixties and seventies. Most of his photographs are in black and white. Especially his photographs of the provo-movement. Their most prominent members (Jasper Grootveld, Simon Vinkenoog, Johnny van Doorn and Theo Kley) and the so called "happenings" are among his most well-known works. In addition, he documented the squaters riots during the coronation of Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus in 1966 and the Bed-in for Peace happening by John Lennon and Yoko Ono at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel in 1969. Cor Jaring was awarded first price by the World Press Photo in 1975, the Fotoprijs Amsterdam in 1979 and became honorary citizen of the city of Amsterdam in 1986. His work is in the collections of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and of the City Archives of Amsterdam. Photograph depicting men from Purmerend leaving the public toilet at the Koemarkt.
