Condition: Very Good. PFAS179 This is a rare opportunity to secure this antique 5.5" x 3.5" hand signed postcard for Miss Queenie?Leighton who has personally autographed the souvenir where her signature rests perfectly accompanying her portrait?- some ageing just to reverse - mild corner impressions from former album storage - but overall very good condition and undedicated?signing too.Queenie Leighton (18 July 1874 19 November 1943) was a British music hall star of the Edwardian era.She was a much loved principal boy in a number of Drury Lane theatre pantomimes. Women dressed in drag were becoming fashionable in the Edwardian theatre and Leighton was a popular artist in this genre. She appeared as Prince Charming, Dick Whittington, Sinbad, Aladdin and in other musical plays.Leighton was one of the many stage artists who came under pressure to recruit soldiers through their performances with much emphasis on the patriotic aspect of their songs such as I'll Make a Man Out of You. Leighton was reported to have followed up her act at the Royal Hippodrome, Dover, with a tour of the town depositing 'half a dozen young recruits at Dover town hall.

Condition: Very Good. NP147 Antique hand signed photo for 1900s actor Queenie?Leighton who has personally inscribed her name into the right side of the card and hand dated the autograph 1905 with a mild but evident handing place to note and some surface so slightly used appearance graded vg minus to vg. This reads "And More" as she seems to have hand written the reverse too as the handwriting matches so I have scanned this for your full examination so you can decide (see image 2).

First edition, first impression with full number line. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, IN BLACK PEN, WITHOUT DEDICATION, ON TITLE PAGE. Some very slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, not price clipped (£14.99), no other inscriptions, internally clean square and tight, overall a vg++ copy. 356pp. When Queenie Hennessy discovers that Harold Fry is walking the length of England to save her, and all she has to do is wait, she is shocked. Her note had explained she was dying. How can she wait? A new volunteer at the hospice suggests that Queenie should write again; only this time she must tell Harold everything. In confessing to secrets she has hidden for twenty years, she will find atonement for the past. As the volunteer points out, 'Even though youżve done your travelling, youżre starting a new journey too.' Queenie thought her first letter would be the end of the story. She was wrong. It was the beginning. Told in simple, emotionally honest prose, with a mischievous bite, this is a novel about the journey we all must take to learn who we are, it is about loving and letting go. And most of all it is about finding joy in unexpected places and at times we least expect. A beautiful book, a future classic, scarce signed. Signed by Author(s).
