Presentation copy, inscribed and dated in the year of publication by Lawrence Lipton to fellow poet Lawrence Spingarn on the front flyleaf. The first collection of verse by the Polish-born poet who is perhaps best known for The Holy Barbarians (1959), his popular chronicle of the Beat generation. Small octavo: 75 pp. Original patterned blue cloth binding, with gilt-stamped titling. The dust jacket is toned along the spine and extremities, with a lengthy tear to the front fold that has been mended with tape on the verso and a few tiny chips.

Book body clean and relatively tight, pages age toned. Signed, dated and inscribed by the author at front free endpaper. Dark blue dust jacket shows moderate shelf wear and some sunning and creasing to edges and corners, heaviest crease mark to top edge of front cover, black titles at front and sunned spine, price intact, archival Brodart protected.
