Covers are virtually pristine and intact except for slight rubbing to gilt lettering on spine. Dust jacket is clean and intact overall but has light to moderate age toning, surface rubbing and a two tiny holes on back panel (rubbing and holes affect text but only a small portion), some small chips and bumps along edges, and a tiny dampstain on front flap. A Near Fine book in a Very Good dust jacket. This is a collection of poetry by American poet Robert Frost (1874-1963). Frost was a four-time recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry and was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature thirty-one times. A Further Range earned Frost's his 1937 Pulitzer Prize. A Further Range contains Frost's signature style of writing and themes about rural Americana. Some of the poems herein also reflect contemporary political themes and issues such as the labor movement, New Deal, and continued encroachment of industrialization onto rural farm life. This anthology is divided into six main parts, "Taken Doubly," "Taken Singly," "Ten Mills," "The Outlands," "Build Soil," and "Afterthought." The parts each have a group of poems (or in the case of "Afterthought," one poem) listed under them. Poems under "Taken Doubly": "A Lone Striker," "Two Tramps in Mud Time," "The White-tailed Hornet," "A Blue Ribbon at Amesbury," "A Drumlin Woodchuck," "The Gold Hesperidee," "In Time of Cloudburst," "A Roadside Stand," "Departmental," "The Old Barn at the Bottom of the Fogs," "On the Heart's Beginning to Cloud the Mind," "The Figure in the Doorway," "At Woodward's Gardens," and "Record Stride." Poems under "Taken Singly": "Lost in Heaven," "Desert Places," "Leaves Compared with Flowers," "A Leaf Treader," "On Taking from the Top to Broaden the Base," "They Were Welcome to Their Belief," "The Strong Are Saying Nothing," "The Master Speed," "Moon Compasses," "Neither Out Far Nor In Deep," "Voice Ways," "Design," "On a Bird Singing in Its Sleep," "After-flakes," "Clear and Colder," "Unharvested," "There are Roughly Zones," "A Trial Run," "Not Quite Social," and "Provide Provide." Poems under "Ten Mills": "Precaution," "The Span of Life," "The Wrights' Biplane," "Assertive," "Evil Tendencies Cancel," "Pertinax," "Waspish," "One Guess," "The Hardship of Accounting," "Not All There," and "In Dives Dive." Poems under "The Outlands": "The Vindictives--The Andes," "The Bearer of Evil Tidings--The Himalayas," "Iris by Night--The Malverns (but these are only hills)," "Build Soil (As delivered at Columbia, May 31, 1932, before the National party conventions of that year)," and "To a Thinker." Poem under "Afterthought": "A Missive Missile.".
