Softcover. Condition: As New. China has been rapidly gaining strength in recent years and is about to establish its status as a hegemony. At the same time, the Chinese government is taking the Nanking Massacre up to a whole new level in the international society. In June 2014, the Chinese government filed an application with UNESCO to register the history materials regarding the Nanking Massacre and the comfort women as ?Memories of the World.?The Rape of Nanking, which came out in 1997, is a book that greatly contributed to creating this trend. Due to the book, the term ?Nanking Massacre? has recently resurfaced and spread rapidly throughout the world, starting with the United States. However, The Rape of Nanking has been brought up and argued by many experts as a ludicrous book, from the time it was published. The photos used in the book as records of cruel acts by the Japanese army are all photos that have been taken from elsewhere, completely irrelevant to the Japanese soldiers and Nanking. In order to provide a powerful material in identifying this issue, we have published The Secret Behind ?The Rape of Nanking,? a book revealing Chang's current state, the strong possibility of a conspiracy behind The Rape of Nanking and even the truth about her death. This was done by a method unheard of: summoning the spirit of Iris Chang from the spirit world.Regardless of whether or not you believe in a spiritual message phenomenon, as an individual human being, you cannot remain unmoved by her tears of apology and the truth in her plea, both coming from the bottom of her heart. And you will probably ask yourself, ?What is the truth??.

Card covers, 290pp, b&w plates. A little wear on card edges, page edges a little browned; a good copy. Using interviews with survivors, documents, and the diaries of John Rabe (the leader of the rescue effort), Chang tells the story of the Japanese soldiers who performed the massacre of Nanking in December 1937; of the Chinese civilians who endured it; and a group of Europeans and Americans who refused to abandon the city and were able to create a safety zone and save almost 300,000 Chinese.

Hardcover. Condition: As New. THE BOOK IS MADE TO ORDER AND IT TAKES 2 TO 4 WEEKS FOR IT TO BE READY FOR SHIPPING *****SIZE - 8 x 5.5 inches (21 x 13.5 cm). *****EDITION - 11 of 100, initialed and numbered. *****If you are interested in a different title, send me a message and I will give you a quote.*****Book's original ISBN 978-0465068364*****Books, as much as experiences, change my life, and I decided to make a limited collection of all the books I read and loved. And maybe you also will find in my collection a book that you enjoyed, and it even might have influenced your life.*****The book is a soft cover which I recycle and transform into a limited edition, personalized hardback with leather cover, designed and made by me. First, I prepare the book by embedding cotton cords into the spine. Adding 2 mm wood boards to the front and back. And reinforcing everything with cloth. To make the cover I use grade A, naturally tanned hide, I buy from a tannery in north Spain. It is the same leather Louis Vuitton uses to make his bags, so it is top quality. I do all the processing of the leather myself. First, I design the cover, and for this I used a World War Two poster which shows the tremendous destruction caused by the conflict, and adapted it to the war in the far east. Next, I mix leather inks and screen them on the surface of the leather. The inks are partly absorbed by the skin to create a permanent bond. Finally, I coat the leather with protective solution. The leather gives the image a vintage look and beautiful texture, and it will age nicely with time. Inside the front cover. I can print a personal message or a quote from the book. The book is beautiful. Visually it has a very nice texture, it smells great, and the more you handle it the more beautiful it will become. And it makes a great gift for yourself, or somebody who appreciates books. So if you want one, don't snooze, or you might lose.*****RETURNS: This is a custom-made item, so returns or exchanges are not accepted. But you can contact me if there is any problem with your order. *****COLORS: Since I make each item to order, the color might vary from the pictures. It depends on how the inks mix and how they react with leather. *****SHIPPING: I make each item to order, and it takes a few weeks, since I need to find the book first. I go to the post office once a week. Estimated delivery time is about two weeks, but it depends on the postal service and customs. And occasionally there are delays, and it might take a month or so to arrive.
