Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Very Good; tanning to spine and edges of covers; mild soil to covers; else Fine. No dust jacket. First Edition. Inscribed on flyleaf: "Dale Olson - The Lord's richest Blessings - Jeane Dixon - Take good care of our Lassie[?] - February 19, 1980". Dale Olson (1934-2012) was a Hollywood publicist who represented many A-list stars, most famously Rock Hudson, whom Olson persuaded in 1985 to admit that he had AIDS, to help educate the public about the issue. Olson was an early gay rights activist; in 1954, he became the first man to appear and be interviewed on television in the United States as a self-identified homosexual, using a pseudonym with his face obscured. Lassie was presumably his pet. Laid in is a promotional post card for Dixon's upcoming book "Jeane Dixon's Magicat", which however may have never been published. Mike the Magicat, Dixon's pet, is shown on the front of the postcard on a carousel horse, wearing a red cape, with a red fez on his head. The back of the postcard has the promotional text and Magicat's paw print, and in Dixon's hand: "For Lassie - With love, the Magicat - Jeane.". Signed by Author(s). Book.
