First Edition. Deluxe Issue, one of five copies specially bound, this one marked "Publisher's Copy" on the colophon and signed by the author and artist. Octavo (19.75cm); full burgundy calf, with title label mounted to spine, and three-dimensional pictorial cardboard collage mounted to front cover; publisher's original acetate dustjacket; [ii],[4],5-113,[5]pp; illustrated by Larry Rivers. Modest wear to spine ends, faint foxing to upper edge of textblock, else Near Fine in a lightly rubbed, Near Fine dustjacket, without the folding portfolio and slipcase called for by the bibliographers. Laid into this copy is a pictorial invitation (designed by Rivers) to the publication party at the Gotham Book Mart, accompanied by 20 black & white photographs from the event (most 7.25" x 5"), capturing Koch, Leonard Cohen, Clayton Eshleman, Diane Wakoski, and others, as well as each Larry Rivers collage that appears in the book; mild handling, a few captioned on verso; Near Fine.A collaborative work by two prominent New York School figures, which they dedicated to the late Frank O'Hara. One of the most attractive productions of the press, and uncommon in the deluxe issue; the bibliographers note that of the five copies, one was retained by the publisher, another resides at the University of Alberta, and the remaining three are held in private hands.
