Edition and printing not known. In good dark red cloth boards, with blind stamped decorated edges and corners to front and rear and gilt swan to front, gilt giraffe to spine with gilt titles. The boards are very tight, quite even; a little marked around the edges. "The Clevedon Community Co-operative Bookshop Bindery Team" have repaired the front hinge and cloth patches added to head and tail of spine and water marks inked and painted to match. The yellow end papers are a little marked; blue book plate on front paste down. The text block has most attractive and detailed black and white illustrations and has gilt cut edges. The pages are firm and fairly even, with foxing on most pages. The plate opposite page 198 has been reinforced and re-attached by the Bindery Team. Good minus condition.
