Much on Victorian attitudes to women, belief in ghosts, slavery, General Hayman 'the woman flogger', the Great Exhibition etc., Slight foxing at front fore-edge, otherwise very good in very good d/w with very small number '36' at rear top inside corner of jacket, written by Gollancz on their file copies to note the year of publication.
