Tight, attractive first edition of this "book of intimate memories that reads like a novel" (to quote the jacket front panel), bearing a special bookplate on the front pastedown from Kroch's Bookstores in Chicago: printed message reads "This book is especially / Autographed / by the Author," with Maurois' miniscule signature in blue fountain pen inked beneath.
