Pamphlet, 8vo, removed, disbound, 48 pp. Disbound and title page detached, chips and tears to title, but not affecting text, minor creasing and folds, some soiling, aging and browning. Abiel Abbot (1765-1859) was born in Wilton, New Hampshire, and after graduating from Harvard in 1787 he became a minister. In 1795 he became the minister of church in Coventry, Connecticut, but was dismissed in 1811 because of some of his religious views. Abbott wrote about his differences with this church, and the current title is a response by that congregation. philospedia.org.
