Add to basketTokyo, Asahi, 1934-1939. Four volumes in four. 4to (26.0 x 19.0 cm). Ca. 700 pp. with 124 plates and three folding coloured maps. Original uniform printed stiff wrappers. = This is the rare, complete geological section of the results of an expedition to northern China during the Japanese occupation. It contains important monographs such as: Saito, K.: "Mesozoic Leptolepid fishes from Jehol and Chientao"; Tokunaga, S. and Naora, N.: "Report of diggings at Ho-Chia-Kou, Ku-Hsiang-Tung, Kurin, Manchoukou", etc. Text in English and Japanese. Illustrations show fossil mammals, etc. This second section appears to be much rarer than some others, such as the zoology (section V) and anthropology (section VI) sections. In the title of the first volume, Manchoukuo is misspelled "Manchoukou". Uniform library stamp on front cover and several first blanks and/or title pages. One corner of part I bumped; third volume lacking spine cover, otherwise a very good, complete set. Nissen ZBI, 4751.
