On top of all that, he's written or co-written a number of books, including science fiction novel THE RETURN (with John Barnes). This is the advance uncorrected proofs for the novel, released to select booksellers and reviewers ahead of publication. Aldrin SIGNED it at an event at my bookstore. It's been bumped on the lower right corner, affecting the first 20 pages or so and the front wrapper (see pictures). It's unread, with no creases in the spine, and otherwise in excellent shape. He served as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later joined NASA.
