He had various assignments in the interwar years and worked for General Geroge Marshall in the early days of WWII. He led the 12th Infantry Regiment at Normandy until he was wounded in action and eventually retired from the Army due to his wounds. After the war Reeder became an athletic director at West Point. There is a signed dedication dated 11 February 1967 on the first page. Good+ copy of the hard cover book in a good+ dust jacket.
