Volume 1 has a black spine with a aquamarine planet design in the center and blue and white outlined in aquamarine lettering, Volume 2 has a black spine with a blue and purple planet design in the center and white and white outlined in purple lettering, Volume 3 has a black spine with a blue-grey planet design in the center and with white and white outlined in gold lettering, Volume 4 has a black spine with a red planet design and white and white outlined in red lettering, Volume 5 has a holographic black spine with a holographic grey asteroid design and silver and white outlined in silver holographic lettering, and Volume 6 has a black spine with a red-grey asteroid design and white and grey lettering. Notable for being a more "hard" science than many other science-fiction works, prominently not including the faster-than-light travel common in many other science-fiction stories. It is this universe that acts as the setting for a majority of Alastair Reynolds' novels and short-stories. The Inhibitor Sequence consists of Reynolds' first 3 novels "Revelation Space", "Redemption Ark", and "Absolution Gap" from 2000-2003, completed in 2021 with "Inhibitor Phase". Much of the Revelation Space series as a whole takes place around the original trilogy from 2000-2003. This collection contains only the original trilogy. "Chasm City" was released between "Revelation Space" and "Redemption Ark" in 2001. "Chasm City" takes place in the titular city, which is a major nexus within the wider Revelation Space universe. "Galactic North" is a collection of most of Alastair Reynolds' short stories and novellas set in the Revelation Space universe released in 2006. Around 8 stories are told in relatively chronological order from "Great Wall of Mars" set in 2,200AD going to "Galactic North" set in 40,000 AD.
