Hardcover. 328p. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR. A brown cloth hardcover book in acceptable condition. The covers are just starting to detach, but still hold well enough to be handled. Corners worn through; spine faded and dented in the middle. Closed tear in gutter of front free endpaper. Spotty stains on first several leaves, but otherwise, text unmarked and pages securely attached. Inscribed by the author on the first blank endpaper. A review of this book, clipped from a newspaper dated November 26, 1879, is pasted onto the rear endpapers.
