Hardcover. Condition: Good+. Boards rubbed with some marks. Some fraying to cloth at edge of front board. Light crease to spine cloth. Pencil arithmetic and owner's signature on endpapers.; x, 275, [1] pages. Red cloth boards with black lettering on spine and front board. Page dimensions: 184 x 122mm.Adventure novel, that begins in New York and then goes to sea in a ship. "The fog groped and felt its way along the water-front. Then it crept up to the throat of the city, like a grey hand, and strangled Broadway into an ominious quietness." - the opening sentence. "A portion of this novel was printed in the January, 1909, number of 'The Popular Magazine,' under the title of 'The Gun Runner.'" - Prefatory Note. Canadian author who wrote in several fiction genres.
