Near Fine with very faint creasing to front wrap, a little shelf wear to rear wrap. From the collection of "design guru" and notable collector of postmodern objects Jim Walrod with his emboss on the first page. This rare flipbook was produced for the Manchester band New Order, whose avant-garde dance music epitomized the postmodern blending of high and mass culture, for one of their biggest hits: the moody techno song "Blue Monday." Copies were sent out for friends of the Hacienda, Factory Records' head honcho Tony Wilson's Situationist-inspired nightclub. It was co-designed by William Wegman, famous for his portraits of his own dogs. Filmmaker Robert Breer created an animation of one of Wegman's Weimaraners to be flipped through (presumably along with the song) in a kind of "manual video." Music videos were all the rage at the time. Madchester, Wegman's Weimaraners, Factory Records, music videos, The Hacienda-- peak '80s style was achieved here.
