Press at Colorado College (illustrator). large 4to. bound in heavy linen, with matching slipcase, title on front cover. Unpaginated. Limited to 40 numbered copies. Prospectus loosely inserted. A fine copy in fine slipcase. Reproduces 19 illustrations from the first major work of Fludd (1574-1637) who, as a Christian Hermeticist, saw all things as proceeding from God. The images illustrate how the universe or Macrocosm came into existence, and how it took the form attributed to it by Aristotle and Prolemy. Negatives from photographs taken by the Bancroft Library were used to etch printing plates and then printed on a Vandercook Universal II press. The paper is Johannot and the type is Weiss foundry and Adobe's version of that original cutting. A beautiful production. bound in heavy linen, with matching slipcase, title on front cover.
