Paperback. Condition: Very good. Association copy, Signed on the half title by John Gelston, the son of David Gelston, one of the founding law makers in New York State following the Revolution. David represented Suffolk County in 1777 in the Constitutional Convention that enacted the first constitution for New York state. David Gelston later served in the New York state senate and was appointed Collector of the Port of New York by President Thomas Jefferson. Gelston apparently sent his son John to study in France, as the owner inscription reads "A Bordeaux, an 5ieme". Also at the half title a note in French stating that the current work is by the author of the "Conjuration d'Orleans". 12mo, 224pp, uncut. Original Tan paper wraps, with title hand written at front cover, no title at tan paper spine. In French. Covers gently rubbed, esp at spine; internally, very good. Nouvelle edition, revue, corrigee et augmentee par l'Auteur.
