Der Plakatentwurf zeigt im Zentrum eine Faust im Lederhandschuh, die einen Wasserhahn umschließt. Dieses Bild spielt auf geniale Weise nicht nur auf die Verbrechen im Wassermanagement von Los Angeles 1937… an, sondern auch auf den Inzest, die Intrigen und die Unterdrückung der Wahrheit, die der Kultfilm "Chinatown" zeigt. Die Schrift steht auf einem Schatten, der die Silhouette eines Frauengesichts hat. Dieser großartige Entwurf wurde offensichtlich nie als Plakat für den Film veröffentlicht, wir konnten auch keine irgendwie ähnliche Vorlage nachweisen. Die Graphik ist in einer Mischtechnik aus Wasserfarbe, Wachskreiden und Farbstiften gearbeitet. Die mit äußerster Akkuratesse gearbeitete Faust kontrastiert mit der lässig gemalten Schrift, die Arbeit ist fast in schwarz-weiss Tönen ausgeführt, nur an wenigen Stellen wie dem messingfarbenen Wasserhahn wurde Farbe eingesetzt. Das Bild hat einen ein Zentimeter breiten schwarzen Rand, der an eine Todesanzeige denken lässt. Der wenig bekannte Berliner Künstler Arno Zerrenner hat seine Arbeit in der rechten unteren Ecke mit winzigen Buchstaben "Zerrenner 75" signiert. The center of the poster design shows a fist in a leather glove that encloses a tap. This picture ingeniously alludes not only to the crimes in the Los Angeles water management 1937, but also to the incest, intrigue and suppression of truth that the cult film "Chinatown" shows. The writing is on a shadow that has the silhouette of a woman's face. Obviously, this great draft was never published as a poster for the film, nor could we prove any similar template. The graphics are worked in a mixed technique of water color, wax crayons and colored pencils. The fist worked with extreme accuracy contrasts with the casually painted font, the work is almost done in black and white tones, only in a few places such as the brass-colored faucet color was used. The picture has a one centimeter wide black border, which reminds of a death notice. The little-known Berlin artist Arno Zerrenner has signed his work in the lower right corner with tiny letters "Zerrenner 75". "Chinatown ist ein US-amerikanischer Kriminalfilm von Regisseur Roman Polanski aus dem Jahr 1974. Er wurde mit dem Oscar für das beste Originaldrehbuch ausgezeichnet und ist, so Polanski in den 1970ern, eine 'traditionelle Detektivgeschichte in neuer, moderner Gestalt'."
