Er besuchte die Abendschule und studierte anschließend zwei Semester an der Akademie für Welthandel in Frankfurt. Ab 1975 war er wieder in Kronach als Verwaltungsleiter tätig. Als Hans Otfried Dittmer in den siebziger Jahren eine Reihe von in der damaligen Alternativszene prominenten Personen wie Wolfgang Fienhold und Volker Zotz zusammenführen und für seine Verlagsedition Dittmer gewinnen konnte, gehörte auch Ingo Cesaro zu seinen Autoren.[1] Von 1982 bis 1984 ließ sich Cesaro in einem Studium als Praktischer Betriebswirt ausbilden. Seit 1989 arbeitet er als freier Schriftsteller, Publizist und Kulturmanager. Arbeitsschwerpunkte Aus der Zusammenarbeit Ingo Cesaros mit Malern und Grafikern entstanden bibliophile Editionen, Künstlerbücher, Grafik-Text-Mappen, Grafik-Text-Kalender, Einzelblattdrucke und Ausstellungs-Projekte. Zusammen mit Komponisten und Musikern betreibt er Projekte wie Jazz & Texte, minimalmusik & Dreizeiler, Vertanzte Gedichte und Saxophon & Lyrik. Er benutzt die einzige mobile Handpresse, wie sie aus der Zeit Gutenbergs bekannt war, im deutschsprachigen Raum. Er betreibt Literatur-Werkstätten vor allem mit Schülern, Jugendlichen, behinderten Menschen (auch integrierte Projekte) und Erwachsenen. Neben der Schreibwerkstatt hat er eine altertümliche Setz- und Druckwerkstatt. Da seine Handpresse mobil ist, entstehen alle Ergebnisse unterwegs, es besteht keine Werkstatt in Kronach. Schriftltr. der Zeitschriften Rheinisches Museum für Philologie (1959-1967) und Gnomon (1970-1999, ab 1975 Mitherausgeber). - Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - Aus dem Text: Die ältesten Zeugnisse in Rom, die wir mi…t Romulus in Verbindung bringen können, sind Standbilder der Wölfin, eines auf dem Kapitol (Cic. Catil. 3, 19; div. 1, 19f. u. ö.), eines am Lupereal (D. H. 1, 79, 8). Von ihm berichtet Livius (10,23,12), daß im Jahre 296 v. Chr. "Cn. et Q. Ogulnii aediles curules . ad ficum Ruminalem simulacra infantium conditorum urbis sub uberibus lupae posuerunt". Die Angabe mag richtig sein; jedenfalls finden sich schon unter den ältesten Silberprägungen aus der Zeit von 269 bis 242 v. Chr. Stücke mit der Wölfin und den Zwillingen. Diese Form der Darstellung als Zwilling unter der Wölfin bleibt dann in Rom für Romulus verbindlich bis zur Zeit des Augustus, wie die Ara Pacis zeigt (linke Tafel der Frontseite). Wenn A. ALFÖLDI Romulus als Hirtenjungen beim Aeneasopfer (auf der rechten Tafel) vermutet, so übersieht er, daß eine solche Szene die Reihe der Albanerkönige ausschlösse, was für ein augusteisches Werk nicht vorstellbar ist; man denke nur an das sechste Buch von Vergils Aeneis (760ff.). Daneben hat es natürlich die Königsstatue gegeben; späte Autoren erwähnen sie gelegentlich wegen ihrer altertümlichen Tracht. Ihr Alter genau zu bestimmen ist nicht möglich, da sie keinen Einfluß auf die Ikonographie ausgeübt zu haben scheint; denn die Quirinusdenare des C. Memmius gehen nicht auf sie zurück, wie O. In dieser Bedeutung mit der Wurzel des Stadtnamens rom- verbunden, bezeichnet es sehr gut das, was Rom gründet, jene vitale göttliche Kraft, die Rom erhält: Romulus ist die Vergöttlichung der Stadt Rom.
