Stuart served with the RSF at Alma and Balaclava and commanded the regiment from 1854-1867 including at Inkerman and Sebastopol. He was 'Commander in Chief, Scotland' from 1875-1878. xxiv, 185pp. and 6 coloured plates, including the frontispiece. All edges gilt. Of this historical record of the Royal Scots Fusiliers the greater portion had previously appeared in the columns of the Ayrshire Post, but the author has added a short but comprehensive sketch of the services of the second battalion of the Fusiliers.The book is bound in the original green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and gold titling and gold stamped Regimental Colour on the front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with a little wear to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean. SIGNED COPY.
