Three paper items from the irrepressible Elbert Hubbard and his Roycrofters, as pictured: 1) Roycroft Limp Leather Classics: stapled pamphlet about 5¼ by 7¾ inches, folded once; undated, circa 1929. Advertises Hubbard's sister's book on him - The Elbert Hubbard I Knew, by Mary Hubb…ard Heath; An American Bible; four books by Hubbard: Time and Chance; The Liberators; The Romance of Business; Loyalty In Business; and a note on the back cover by Elbert Hubbard II, To The Friends of Roycroft noting the success of Hubbard's writings & the quality of Roycroft publications. 2) Life Membership in the American Academy of Immortals: To Men & Women Still on Earth. 1905, single sheet, folded twice, about 16 by 11 inches, pitching The Roycrofters subscription service, giving one all back & future numbers of The Philistine & Little Journeys, as well as your choice of ten dollars worth of books from a list on the back, and some comments on the virtues of the club and its members on the inner pages. Creased with short tears & chips. And 3) a very brittle (partial) pamphlet on cheap paper advertising The Roycroft Inn, list of 13 books for sale, Books One and Two of Great Lovers, dating it to around 1906; an ad for the International Press Clipping Bureau, Chicago; a Ralph Spofford quote on religion; an ad for McIvor-Tyndall's magazine The Swastika (The Ancient Symbol of Fortune), published in Denver; Hubbard's book White Hyacinths; offer of job-printing by The Roycrofters; ad for the Little Journeys book on William Morris, and an ad for the speaking/lecturing services of Charles [Carl] Sandburg, who would speak on An American Vagabond, Civilization, The Red Flag, or Walt Whitman. On the front is pasted a ragged square of yellow paper bearing the watermarked portrait, finely detailed, of Hubbard. Five leaves, probably incomplete, each about 5¾ by 7¾ inches, brittle & chipped.
