Published in 1899, this is the First Edition of this adventure novel set in Pakistan from author Bertram Mitford, the book was obviously post dated 1899, and released for the Christmas market in 1898, as the inscription to the front endpaper shows, illustrated with a frontispiece and two plates by the artist Harold Piffard, which is incorrectly spelt Pifford on the title page, some rubbing and light marking to covers, internally endpapers browned, a few handling marks within else in good general condition.

Not, one might add, with the same success-commercially, or otherwise. This adventure is set in Baluchistan, which one surmises from the turbans worn by the baddies is somewhere northwest of India A little foxing. Minor fraying to spine extrems, o/w VG+.
