Um der Bezeichnung der hybriden Identität näher zu kommen, werden im Folgenden zunächst Definitionsansätze wichtiger Begriffe, wie Identität und Hybridität vorgenommen. Darananschließend werden die hybride Identität und im Besonderen die Aspekte der russlanddeutschen Hybridität näher betrachtet. Nachdem die theoretischen Konzepte detailliert dargestellt wurden, wird die Darstellung hybrider Identität im Roman selbst untersucht. Exemplarisch für die Analyse hybrider Identität in Grjasnowas Roman wird die Identitätskonstruktion der Hauptprotagonistin Maria 'Mascha' Kogan unter die Lupe genommen. Ziel ist es zu klären, inwiefern man Mascha eine hybride Identität zuordnen kann und welches Ziel die Autorin mit ihrer Darstellungsweise verfolgt. Außerdem wird beurteilt, welche Merkmale Maschas Identität ausmachen und auf welche Probleme sie bei der Identitätssuche und -konstruktion trifft. Diese Arbeit geht dabei davon aus, dass die hybride Identität der Hauptprotagonistin auf die problematische Integration von Migranten und Migrantinnen hinweist und die Autorin die Hybridisierung an sich als ein zukunftsweisendes Konzept für unsere globalisierte Welt etablieren will, indem sie aufzeigt, welche Hürden Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund überwinden müssen, weil die Mehrheit an veraltete Konzepte, wie nationale Identität festhält.

Der Hausarbeit liegt die These zugrunde, dass sich das Trauma, fiktiv oder echt, implizit anhand stilistischer und gestalterischer Mittel auf die Struktur des Werkes auswirkt. Die Autorin selbst hat die Signifikanz dieser medizinischen Thematik für die Entstehung ihres Debütromans mehrfach betont: ¿Die Hauptfigur meines Romans ¿ Mascha ¿ hat als Kind den Mord an einer armenischstämmigen Frau mitangesehen. Seitdem leidet sie an einer posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung, die sie nicht überwinden kann.¿Hieraus ergeben sich die beiden folgenden Forschungsfragen: Welche Bedeutung kommt dem Trauma in der Handlung zu Inwiefern wirkt sich das Trauma auf die Struktur des Romans aus Zur Beantwortung der dargelegten Fragen wurde die Arbeit in folgender Weise gegliedert: In einem ersten Schritt wird der Trauma-Begriff in Kürze definiert. Außerdem erfolgt eine kurze Darstellung, wie Traumata bei Menschen ausgelöst werden können und in welchen Symptomen sich diese manifestieren. Eine grobe Kenntnis der medizinischen Symptomatik der Posttraumatischen Belastungsstörung (PTBS) ist entscheidend, da sich die Symptome sowohl in thematischer Hinsicht als auch strukturell in dem Text niederschlagen. In einem weiteren Unterkapitel soll das Trauma im Kontext der Literatur beleuchtet werden. Im vorletzten Kapitel kommt es zu der sowohl inhaltlichen als auch formalen Analyse von Traumata, mit dem Augenmerk auf die Frage, inwiefern sich ein Trauma auf die Struktur eines Textes auswirkt.
