Typescript document in photostat copy, 8 pp. With 5 numbered plans. Some brief manuscript notes. Stapled. Report on the Saudi government road programme, addressed to R. S. Luttrell of Aramco Southern Area Oil Operations, announcing no fewer than 3,131 kilometers of government roads to be completed by 1987. The latest highlights of the government road programme include the opening of two expressways - Safwa to Jubail and Qatif Junction to Ras Tanura -, a new interchange in Riyadh, and the construction of two more lanes on the new Abqaiq-Hofuf road, which are to be openend for traffic within a few months. Also provides the length, facility, consultant, contractor and status of each government road (either proposed, under construction, or complete), carefully distinguishing between government and Aramco roads. - The rather long list of cc'd recipients on the first page points to the wide circulation of such reports among Aramco officials, reflecting the interest the company had in the newly established government infrastructure as an asset to their business in Saudi Arabia.
