The other chapters were prepared for a lecture-tour of America which did not take place, ill-health causing Wells to cancel the arrangements. The emphasis in the work lies on the foundation of a world state," 72 in G. H. Wells. This copy bears the American author Larry McMurtry's bookplate; it has also been inscribed by Wells to "Dr. L. P. Jacks", who was an English educator, philosopher, and Unitarian minister who rose to prominence in the period from World War I to World War II. Jacks was also a writer and became friends with Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde in the 1890s. A fantastic association copy with Wells's signature.
