Dated from the address given for Bufford, 490 Washington St., Boston. Peters, America on Stone, does not list this address for Bufford, but does show that Bufford was at 190 Washington St. beginning in 1871. We believe that either Peters or Bufford has made an error in the first digit of the address. At the very least, this piece dates from after 1863 when the state of West Virginia was created.
