The binding is solid. The contents are bright and clean and Signed/Inscribed by Jesse Stuart on the front free end-page, with a nice inscription to a man he used to teach with. From the library of U.S. Navy Captain Herbert Goetz (1934-2020) who was hired by Jesse Stuart in 1957 to teach at McKell High School in Greenup County, Kentucky. The two became great friends and stayed connected until Jesse Stuart's death in 1984. Captain (and Navy Chaplain) Goetz was the model for "Otto" in "Mr. Gallion's School." with his address label affixed to the front free endpage. ; Signed by Author.
