A collection pf 15 original lithographs on thick white card from Rowe's Scenery of the North of Devon - but bound in a dark green thick card binding without titles or any title page. the Plates comprise: Ilfracombe from Hillsborough, Ilfracombe from the Tors, Ilfracombe Church (2) Church, Scene from the Tunnel, Ilfracombe, Lynmouth, Devon, At Lynmouth, Devon, (2) The Devils Cheese Ring- Valley of Rocks, Entrance to the Valley of Rocks, Valley of Rocks, Linton, The Thread Water, Water Meet, Lynmouth, and Clovelly, Devon. The plates are clean though a little dusty and some handling evidence but minimal foxing though three have 2cm marginal ring marks. The boards are worn at the edges. Hardcover. Condition: Good. 23 lithographs on India paper drawn from nature and on stone by George Rowe 1796-1864 who was a teacher of drawing and lithographer based in Cheltenham and Exeter. Subjects include Ilfracombe, Lynton, Lynmouth, West Lyn, Countisbury and Clovelly. Two of the mounts are foxed not affecting the image and one other lightly encroaching the image. Undated circa 1830s.
