Add to basketDecorative Hard Back. Condition: Good/Very Good. First Edition. 8 pages of illustrated text + 6 section/ part colour movable diorama scene. Condition; Decorative hardback binding good, some ageing/rubbing, not flat some slight bubbling, small sticker rear removed. Contents Good/Very Good, inside front inscribed 'Samuel Rayworth a reward from the D M School Geahring? 1898'. The illustrated text pages very good, very minimal ageing, 6 section/ part colour movable diorama scene at rear, the 6 sections in very good condition, but the small pieces of paper that open out and hold it all together at corners are mostly present, but about half are not connected. Originally you would gently pull out the 1st section and the other sections would follow with about a 4cm gap between each section to form a diorama seaside scene titled 'Fun on the Silver Sands'. So you could look through it with 5 cut out sections and the last being a full page. And you could slowly move your head around to see it all. On front cover is the title, copyright 1896, Raphael Tuck & Sons, Ltd, London-Paris-New York, designed in England. Printed in Saxony. To rear is the RTS trademark No. 1769 and other publisher details. At time of listing, no other copy for sale, and could not find another complete copy, only found 2 copies on the net, both incomplete, One in Florida institution with illustrated text pages not in order and their cut out colour pages also in wrong places and missing the two of main colour pages from diorama (as book/pages visible on the net). Found another from an avid collector on a blog site, but they state their copy is in poor condition and not complete. Victorian children's diorama books, with different movable sections are now very hard to find for sale in good condition unless restored. So this copy is exceptionally rare or possibly unique, as contents complete and not restored. Please see our other children's books including movable & some very rare tiles. Size: 28 x 21.5cm.approx.
