Delegates included George Magombe, Alfred Nzo, Joe Matthews, Moses Katane and others. The Morogoro Conference was the first general meeting of the A.N.C. after the organization was forced into exile following the establishment of apartheid in 1960, and proved a turning point in the South African anti-apartheid movement. "Sechaba," the ANC's revolutionary and theoretical organ, was among the key documents of the South African liberation movement, remaining in print through the 1980s. Early issues are infrequently seen.
