Hardback, no jacket. Green cloth boards are marked, rubbed and bumped with slight cocking, foxing, fraying and fading to spine. Binding firm, name to reverse of ffep and half-title page, foxing and stain to first and last few pages, top of pages are dyed blue - some bleeding onto top margin of pages, foxing and marks throughout, 2 pages have small loss to bottom margin, one page has a closed tear in internal margin, a little corner creasing. 224 pages, illustrated.

Book has blue cloth boards with orange lettering on the front cover and blank endpapers. Frontispiece and (3) internal illustrations on coated paper, by noted illustrator, Russell Tandy. No ads in rear, only TIA (This Isn't All), signifying a TRUE first printing. Tight, clean copy with no interior writing. Book has a minor brown stain to upper front board and a very minor stain to ffep and fore edge. A very nice copy of a scarce first printing.

The book was published by Grosset & Dunlap, Publishers in 1931 and appears to be a First Edition though it's not specifically stated as such. (It is last-listed on the copyright page and it has the appropriate 1931 date as well.) It's not an ex-library copy, is in good + condition, and it has no dust jacket. There is a bookstamp of one previous owner pasted to the front paste down end page, and the name of another previous owner written on the front loose end page. Like most of these older Nancy Drew hard covers I'm betting that the spine IS getting brittle. I've been very careful in my handling of it. The book is 5 1/4" by 7 5/8" and has 204 pages with some black-and-white illustrations/plates. It also has light blue boards with gold print bordered by black on the front board and pure black print on the spine. Thank you!
