Hardcover. Condition: gut. 2002. Klaus Theweleit, geboren 1942 in Ebenrode/Ostpreußen, ist Professor für Kunst und Theorie an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe, Lehrbeauftragter am Institut für Soziologie der Universität Freiburg und Schriftsteller. Antony Gormley's dual project of 1997 was simultaneously exhibited in two contrasting arenas; in Kiel it was shown at the Museum of Art and in Cuxhaven the mud flats of Dose provided the natural canvas. In Kiel, an army of 40,000 clay figures occupied the museum's 19th century exhibition halls. Densely crowded together, a plethora of minature figures expectantly faced the museum's visitors and prevented them from gaining a closer view of the museum's permanent collections. The red-brown hues of this mud zone echoed the army of clay figures at Cuxhaven, covering an area of 2.5 kilometres. Here, 100 life-size figures looked to the horizon and dominated the coastline. An interview between Antony Gormley, Klaus Theweleit and Monika Theweleit-Kubale is included, exploring the artist's use of space and also touching on the themes of "host" and "field". In englischer Sprache. 173 pages. 23,5 x 16,7 x 1,8 cm.
