No Binding. Condition: Fine. Margaret Adams (illustrator). 35x22cm, single sheet. One of 10 (200) copies (see below) printed to recto only in Van Krimpen?s Cancelleresca Bastarda in black on Millbourn Lexpar handmade paper, burnished gold initial and calligraphic title in blue ink above the text by Margaret Adams, single gilt and blue stars below. The artist Sir William Russell Flint commissioned this major illuminated folder from the Stanbrook Abbey Press, which (in addition to thirty copies for his personal use, on old French paper) was also offered for general sale, as here. Extremely beautiful, and one of only ?about 10? copies (according to Butcher) with the calligraphic title as opposed to a roundel of stars above the text. Fine, with two small patches of residue from old mounting at versos of top corners. Butcher C19 (without outer folder).
