Wilhelm Reich's first steps in the direction of orgonomic functionalism were taken within the framework of the early psychoanalytic movement, but after 1934 his scientific interests and experiments lay entirely in the new field of Orgonomy, in which he was the sole authority. This anthology is not intended to replace any of Reich's other works, but rather to serve as an introduction to them. It is hoped that reading these selections will enable the reader to follow the functional logic and to experience the excitement of a scientific study which extended over a third of a century and which culminated in Reich's discovery of the Cosmic Life Energy~Orgone Energy. Selected Writings contains a glossary, a bibliography, a brief biography, and a note on the scientific development of Wilhelm Reich.
