Knight. 20 color plates by Jacob Landau. Volume 1 contains 7 tales, a lengthy Introduction, and other info. Vol 2 consists on one long novel, THE LIFE AND OPINIONS OF KATTER MURR, along with a list of Hoffmann's literary works and a bibliography. A very handsome, and heavy, set. The two books are fine, clean, unmarked, probably unread; the slipcase shows some shelfwear along the edges and one circular stain where a price sticker probably existed.
First printing thus. Edited and Translated by Leonard J. Kent and Elizabeth C. Knight. Both volumes fine in near fine, lightly rubbed publisher's slipcase. Black and red cloth in matching publisher's slipcase.
