Septimus Tyler's book, signed on the last day of his senior year at Yale in 1808. He lists the other members of the class, which includes notable person Ralph Isaacs Ingersoll, at rear endpapers. Tyler was the son of Captain Daniel Tyler, an aide-de-camp of General Israel Putnam at Bunker Hill. Septimus was a U.S. Commercial Agent who died in 1817 on the Frigate Congress after negotiating with Henri Christophe of Haiti for the return of a captured American vessel. Writings of a Puritan minister. Very Good, shelf wear, hinges cracked but holding, abrasions to leather.
